Fight the urge on this one. There are many who when they discover bed bugs run off and buy a "mattress cover". This is not only a waste of money it also doesn't do what they are marketed to accomplish. Most of the marketing for mattress covers implies that they will prevent bed bugs. This is a farce. Though some mattress covers may be able to contain bugs larger than a certain size within the cover once sealed they cannot and will not prevent an infestation nor that the infestation will happen at the bed or the mattress. These things can be pretty pricey as well ranging from $5.00-80.00+. Not a good investment since the problem is not affected and often causes the bug to multiply more efficiently. Please find professionals who can team with you to eliminate these pest. The above picture was taken just prior to Heat Treatment. The wet stain was because the family sprayed the mattress because they found bugs and bought a mattress cover to solve the problem. Bugs were in other places than the bed and reinvested the bed and the mattress cover. As we removed the cover we found a live bug under the cover. Yummy.

This is of course is opposite of the EPA's verbiage. In Fact here is the link to a joint statement from the two stating concerns of this pest. Here is one quote from the post: "Bed bugs cause a variety of negative physical health, mental health and economic consequences. Many people have mild to severe allergic reaction to the bites with effects ranging from no reaction to a small bite mark to, in rare cases, anaphylaxis (severe, whole-body reaction) (2). These bites (Photo 2) can also lead to secondary infections of the skin such as impetigo, ecthyma, and lymphanigitis (3,4). Bed bugs may also affect the mental health of people living in infested homes. Reported effects include anxiety, insomnia and systemic reactions (1)." Though there is no known transmission of disease at this time many are concerned that at any time this pest could begin to cary disease. Bed bug bombs are absolutely useless! In fact they will make the problem worse every time they are used. The bed bugs end up hiding in abnormal places and actually become more heavily infested. We have had to come in and rescue the home or business owners on numerous occasions who have used ineffective chemicals and bombs for months. How come bed bug bombs don't work? A fog is emitted from an aerosol can that inhaled by the bed bugs thus killing them. The problem is that the fog cannot penetrate all areas of infestation and bugs end up migrating deeper and farther into your home and furniture where they wait until the treatment has subsided. After the bugs re-emerge they re-surge stronger than ever many having new locations to infest. In order to eliminate this problem Heat is necessary. Our Process for Heating penetrates all the nooks and crannies to reach the bugs and inflict death. If you need Help contact us immediately. |
