Its simple. Once two bugs mate the female leaves the nest to steer clear of the males and she will then lay up to 5 eggs per day for the duration of her life. Once eggs hatch they will obtain a blood meal and each feeding will carry the bug to the next stage of its life cycle. Bugs will hitch hike on anyone or anything. Bugs gain immunity to pest control products over time and they will run and hide in unlikely places to avoid products then will emerge later.
